"If" I can be an asset to just one person who has posted on here, I don't see that as a bad thing. While my post has nothing to do with this thread, I happen to be someone who has the ability to offer fantastic service, more flexibility than many of the program spoken about/considered and very competitive pricing... Whats obnoxious is the FlexJet guy trying to sell Lear40XR for $6,700/hr, talking about someone not working in your best interest, I can give Gulfstream IV hourly rates for less. I refuse to allow the fine folks on this thread to waste their time and money considering such programs, I had to speak up and I apologize for doing so although I don't regret doing so.

Is that what you think "yup"? Are you perhaps a disgruntled provider looking to take your frustrations out on a better alternative to your services? Nobody wants to hear your opinions. I bring something to very valuable the table, I'm validated every day for what I do. What is it about what I've said you consider to be "bovine fecal matter"?. Let's be professional about this unless that's just not your style. Email me direct if you have non-sensible issues with me, this isn't the place for it.

I am a former Avantair employee. What this "isn't the place for" is for bottom feeding airplane brokers to push their services. You have zero credibility here.

The last thing these owners need is a company named for a reference to a motion picture CROOK! They have been scammed by real life swindlers already.

JetSet has the best pricing on 25 hour jet cards. Plenty of references and happy clients. Why pay more for Marquis? JetSet is 30% less! www.jetsetgrp.com

I was also in a Marquis Card for a while and then was referred to a charter broker, I had my doubts, I did a few test flights with them and the guy there was really professional and great. After doing a few North- South and South North, i decided to do a more obscure route, they upgraded me to a Lear 60 from a Citation V, the trip was great the crew was professional and the charter company did a great job, cant say enough great things about these guys. I now have 3- 25 hour jet cards for a fraction of what I was paying with Marquis. In this business name means something, but service, aircraft and relationships mean more to me. I would definitely give my vote of confidence to the guys at jetsetgroup inc.

Why I chose Netjets and not a charter broker when Avantair began to fail.
I lost money with a previous charter broker Jetcard Plus. They took my deposit and after a few flights had no money left to cover flights. As frustrating as that was (another $40k down the drain), I began to worry about the safety of the flights. The day after Christmas we were given the tail number of a Hawker 800 that was a bit over 20 years old. Turned out to have great pilots and run well, wonderful trip. The return was supposed to be a mid sized, but we got a 20 + year old Lear 35. The pilot in the left seat seemed to know what he was doing, but the pilot in the right seat seemed to be there to keep him company. Weather was great and we were taking off from a long strip and landing at Dulles. I was nervous the entire flight (I fly all over the World for work commercially and do not spook easily). If conditions had not been good, or we were in or out of more challenging conditions, I am not sure I would have gotten on the the plane. WIth all of the problems at Avantair, I never worried about the quality of the pilots or the safety of the flight.
Blue Star Jets has been in business for awhile and has certainly made the CEO a lot of money, which concerns me. With DC as a base, I know the charter operators in my area and can get direct quotes. WIth the charter broker, the charter company must cover costs and make money, the broker must make money, and he must pass money up to the boss to cover his Hamptons lifestyle. All of this is done cheaper then I can do directly with the reputable operators working out of DC area. Not sure how this works. My guess is older planes and cheaper crews. Not sure this is the thought I want every time I head to the airport.
For the way I fly, XOJET, Flexjet, and NetJets have similar pricing. For some of my flying, JetSuite and Citationair Charter have been cheaper and other times more expensive then NetJets (I have used both companies). I purchased a 25 hour 400xp card and have flown four flights. The first flight was a complimentary upgrade to a Hawker 900xp, the second flight to an Excel, the third to a Sovereign, and the fourth to an Excel. None of the upgrades were requested and none charged. Everything with all four flights exceeded expectations. On one on the legs, we were concerned about storms and felt that leaving two hours earlier would ensure that we didn't get stuck or delayed. The morning of the flight I talked with customer service about the issue. They confirmed potential storms at departure. The tail number we had been given couldn't get in early enough to leave early, so they sent a different plane (both Excels). We beat the storms and didn't incur additional cost.
When everything goes well, I am sure the brokers work fine. I am done losing money and worrying about safety. When I can afford it, I will fly with a top flight outfit and "overpay." All other times I will get in line with everyone else and fly commercial rates.
Thanks again to the pilots and mechanics at Avantair that got me, my family, and business associates where we were going safely.
