Everyone else, not all "mechanics" are Uneducated mumbling, and angry. Lets all just chalk this up to a rant by a former employee after a couple of cocktails ( Lord knows we don't have much else to do these days). If you exclude the devaluation to the asset, we did a pretty awesome job keeping these "shitty limos" in the air, with little or nor resources. I don't know of one mechanic that signed off a squawk without actually applying an accepted repair. Likewise the pilots would not have, and didn't fly broken aircraft. That being said the operation reminds me of work in Afghanistan or Iraq; keeping people safe and moving the mission forward. That being said, Clearwater is no Iraq....... The problem is, or was, the lack of resources, and the fact that Avani employees wanted to make the mission work soo bad that they were inclined to push the envelope. What you have to understand with regards to pilots and mechanics is, their reason for pushing the envelope was to complete the mission, NOT pad the Avantair wallet. The risk that was taken, if any, was calculated for the benefit of moving you and your family. Ask any pilot or mechanic, and the'll affirm that any aircraft they released or flew, they would fly their family on; even if the federal government would take issue on the grey area decision. If they do take issue, let them talk to me about my repairs, as I stand by each of them. "We mostly fixed shit" with little notice. Countless 36 hour days, and missed dinners with my wife and kids fixing over abused aircraft with little or no resources. your welcome. Hate me, but it's the truth. Third party maintenance (until 08/12)

Third party maintenance (until 08/12) As an owner, I can say that every pilot I flew with acted with total professionalism. There is no doubt in my mind they would not have flown an unsafe aircraft. While I didn't meet a single mechanic, following this board for the last few months makes it clear to me that they were clearly not the problem (it seems that they were a big factor keeping the company in business so long). I would like to personally thank the pilots and mechanics for ensuring that the end of Avantair was not due to a fatal crash.

Use full names like Kevin McKamey and Steve Santo and Allison Roberto so that when a google search of their names are initiated, this info will come up. Using KM, SS, McSlimey etc is counter productive.

I heard Kevin McKamey is trying to get some planes flying under part 91 and hoping to achieve 135 status under some other certificate. I also heard he is trying to clear aircraft in Orlando using the latest DO Walter Garner. Is Vivian Vega and others aware that the same team that allowed the aircraft to fly from Oct 12 thru June 13 are trying to get planes flying under purchased certificates?

Are u serious? The same people who orchestrated the demise of Avantair are trying to initiate start up operations in places like SUN, TEB, GSO, PBI and TPA? That's incredible. Who would authorize that? The FAA? The DOT? You would think that McKamey would be banned from anything involving aviation until he clears his name from this mess. Certainly someone would be monitoring this. Right?

Ms Vega, I assume you are investigating these accusations,. I also assume you would look into Mr MCKamey's BFR, IFR currency and his current medical to ensure he has been legal to fly aircraft.

while they are at it, it they can investigate mcamey and santo drinking at the Super Bowl, dinging the prop on the TBM and then flying, and hiding an un airworthy aircraft

"When I meet leaders and CEOs who are not only wonderful to be around, but also are highly respected and loved by their employees, I know that the company is destined for good things -- especially if their business model is one that is strategically positioned to capture market share from its competitors" www.alpaytac.com/blog/humas-blog/"Steve is not only an inspirational leader revered by his employees, but also has a disarming personality that charms anyone around him immediately. Despite the fact that he is the CEO of one of the fastest-growing companies in an extremely competitive industry with a very high profile clientele, he has a boy-next-door modesty about him that gives him the ability to connect with any media he is introduced to. You cannot help but like the guy so much that you want to do really well for him and for the company he has built from scratch."

Hey astro50-Santo is either sitting on his yacht with his cronies , or in the process of wrecking his TBM again. As the CEO "...of one of the fastest-growing companies ( blahblahblah )...", he apparently didn't care enough to warn the employees that "...revered him..." ( I just threw up in my mouth ) that they were about to be put out on the street. He and the other Musketeers drained every buck they could out of Avantair and then left a trail of destruction across the country-Aircraft stranded in numerous locations. RamAir at TEB ( Teterboro, NJ ) is gonna auction off 4 Piaggios and pocket a whole lot of CASH-Owners of those aircraft are screwed. When I started refusing to fly aircraft because they WERE NOT AIRWORTHY, or because the proposed duty day was in VIOLATION of FAA REGULATIONS ( This happened on a regular basis ), I sought employment elsewhere. Sounds like you drank the same kind of koolaid that Jim Jones doled out in Guyana, but you lived ??? alpaytac has nothing more to do with Avantair-Moron

Did you just call me a moron? I only posted that for the sake of irony. If you would have read any of my previous posts, you would have been able to discern that I too hope Scamto and McSlimy spend several years in prison, or at the very least are attacked on their yacht by modern pirates.

Astro50- thank you for posting that link. It was entertaining to read, made me sick too, but nontheless entertaining. At one point I was amazed on how many people kissed his ass regularly all the while I was scratching my head thinking about how bad of a job he was doing. I was there for over 5 years saving every dime I could because I figured every week we would be shutdown. They made so many poor financial decisions and never set the company up to succeed. It was obvious that most of the people on the top were there to get as much as they could before the ship sank. I hope you were not being called a moron. Thanks again for the link, reminds me of how he was able to fool so many.
