There are still some +/- 10 to 12 planes that have not flown since the stand down.
AINOnline.com has a 2/7/13 article reporting that all of the remaining furloughed pilots (except those that "bypassed", whatever that means) have been recalled.
More interestingly, the article further states that the company claims that over the next 18 months they will upgrade their fleet, renewing almost a third of their fleet from the Is to the IIs. For those who own a 1/16th (or more) interest in the Is, how is that going to happen? Are you going to be asked to reinvest in the "newer" airplane, or will you and your asset be abandoned?
Somewhere in the 2nd Quarter 2013 "highlights" appearing on the internet, the company may be claiming that as a part of their cost saving measures, they are "eliminating 12 of their more costly aircraft from their fleet". What about the folks/companies that own a part of those aircraft? Is their part going to be bought out at "prevailing market price"?
All I really want is for the company's press releases to be consistently honest among the SEC, AINOnline, this blog, and other sources.
On this blog, there are 102 total members. Avantair claims to have +/- 57 planes in their fleet, of which some five to seven may be company-owned.
Just for "round-number" purposes, Avantair has control over 57 planes; let's say seven of them are company-owned, leaving 50 planes. All of these 50 planes have some 10 to 16 owners; let's use 13 as a rounded, average number of owners/plane. Therefore, there are 50 planes owned by about 13 owners each - a total of 650 owners!
But the registered members and guests on this site are only 100+. Where are the rest of us?
