True, but they have power of attorney. Perhaps start by revoking those?

My concern with your post Avantair Employee is that last year's stand down was around events that took place while Mr. Santo was running the day-to-day operations and the service had started to deteriorate dramatically before this change in leadership. I also have to question so much turnover in such a short time within the ranks of sr. management. It's been my experience that this kind of turnover only happens as people become aware of issues that are questionable and they don't want to be a party to it. I certainly could be wrong, but it does raise concerns. For the sake of the employees and the remaining customers I hope they can somehow turn this around. Unfortunately I think these last 9 months have caused far too much damage to ever recover from.

I guess the class action will work all of this out.

Santo overseeing day to day operations? What a joke. I personally worked at avantair for years and never had a interaction with our fearless brilliant leader. When the new president was hired, there was not even an introduction. These were the people leading the everyday loyal staff which never even meet them. Not much of a company connection. They treat their servants like their owners. No new is good news and good news is none of your business. (Unless you were the owners they continued to fly even through the Nov furlough.......private pay I guess).

I got a letter from the COO stating that they were furloughing everyone due to financial challenges. It also stated that we would not be getting paid for any hours worked since 8 June 2013. It went on to talk about the benefits and filing for unemployment. The voluntary part was not mentioned in the letter, but was mentioned in person.

The employees should be contacting legal representation. Claims can be made against the corporate officers. They may also have a legitimate claim due to the lack of notice of the layoff under the WARN Act.

The employees can get lawyers...the owners can get lawyers...the card holders can get lawyers.
At the end of the day, you can't get blood out of a rock no matter how hard you try or how right you are.

Then explain how santo was seen in the Bahamas on a yacht bearing the company name? I think an auction of what little company assets there are would be a good start...

True tmcgowan, but I would like to see the employees, owners and card members get every nickel possible and ensure that Santo & company don't walk away with their pockets full.

Companies can fail for many reasons and it is not always management's fault. In this case I believe it was management's fault. The way they managed the roll out and communications after the 2012 stand down destroyed the trust that owners had in the company. We went from their best sales people to their worst enemies. Their communications were at best misleading, but likely fraudulent.
I know that Santo was flying XOJet X to the Caribbean during their problems. The lawyers need to ensure that was coming out of his pocket and not company funds. If the Board of Directors authorized him to use company funds to fly on XOJet they should go to jail.

Owners, it has been mine and many of my friends privilege to be your pilots over the years. Never has an owner come forward in the cockpit during these dark days and faulted a pilot to me. The frustration you have to feel must be incredible, but still you never took it out on us. I so hope there is a rabbit in a hat somewhere as I truly loved the flying of my owners. If not, please feel free to PM me and I should be able to put you in touch with a pilot in your area should the need arise when recovering your aircraft. It's been an honor ladies and gentlemen. I will miss you all.
