I don't know Paul Woodward, but my experiences with Phil Torsello were always good. He was responsive and tried to help resolve problems, although he typically wasn't able to because (I assume) there just weren't enough airworthy aircraft. That was actually my experience with pretty much all of Owner Services--great, seemingly well-intentioned folks who seemed like they were on the front lines of a problem they didn't cause. The pilots too. I wish them all the best.

I generally agree about the Owner Services team, but I also feel they knew when we booked a flight that they would not be able to get us a plane at time we requested. They would wait until late in the evening, often after I had gone to bed to let me know that the flight was pushed back by 6+ hours. That led to a lot of last minute scrambling (often overpaying for other aircraft) to get to meetings and get the family back from vacations so the kids wouldn't miss school. It wasn't until the last two months that they were more honest.
The pilots were always great and professional.

I've generally avoided this forum because it has turned into quite a circus as of late, however, I felt compelled to respond to comments made about Owner Services.
Yes, Owners Service may have known at the time of booking that there was no way you were getting an aircraft, but unfortunately this is the guidance we were provided from C-level Management on the daily. Believe you me, no one felt good about what we were doing, but this was our job. I guess we all had the option to quit if we didn't like it, but unfortunately, that may not have been an option at the time. I'm still looking for work after the furlough, and my family couldn't afford me quitting a job (read that as losing unemployment benefits) and moving to the great unknown. It was a shitty part of the job that everyone hated. This present economy is not one where it's easy to quit a job on principle. Some in the company were able to do it, and I applaud them.
The folks I worked with in Owner Services were some of the best in the business, and everyone was better than the job they were asked to do. These folks were the last redeeming quality of the company in my view, and are the reason it lasted so long. This department cared a lot about the clients; more than other folks in higher levels in my opinion.
I will defend their actions, and their intentions as needed. This was not their fault. We hated doing this, mostly because of the close connection we had with most owners. But, a job is a job and some things needed to be done to keep it. It's middle class economics, principle be damned. It's a part of my career I wish I could erase.

It's a part of my career I wish I could erase. Remember it was the clients not the C suite that were paying your salary. It was the C suite and not the clients that drove the company into failure. Get with avwriter, contact one of the law firms suing the C suite and Board, or contact the bankruptcy trustee, and lay out everything you saw and knew. Make sure the C Suite and the Board pay for running this ponzi scheme and putting you out of work.

Anybody who has been involved in aviation for even a short time would know that this is a typical aviation business story.
My last experience with something like this was in 1973.
Moral: ALWAYS have a Plan "B."

If your last experience with "something like this" was in 1973, 40 YEARS ago, I would strongly suggest that this is not a "typical aviation business story". Do some heads of companies in aviation run their companies into the ground? Yes. Are there scumbag operators out there? Yes. Does the federal government fail in it's oversight of some companies? Yes. Do failures of this magnitude occur on a regular basis? No.

RIGHT BEFORE THE SHUT DOWN,THE DAY BEFORE AN 1 OWNER GOT WORD FROM INSIDE THEY WAS CLOSING DOWN AND MOVED 4 OF HIS AIRCRAFT OUT 3 DIDNT EVEN HAVE GEARS. I JUST FEEL BAD FOR ALL THE OTHER OWNERS THAT DIDNT GET THAT INSIGHT AND NOW THERE PLANES HAVENT BEEN RELEASE. THATS NOT THE END THAT 1 OWNER AND KEVIN M, IS TRYING TO START THERE OWN COMPANY.

In a scam this pervasive and extensive the assets of the Board of Directors may be in play, which is a happy thought for someone whose aircraft has been cannibalized and trashed. And if what has been presented here is true the FAA should have pulled Avantair's operating certificate years ago. I'm looking for aircraft N197SL

Try checking out Skylimo in FXE (Ft. Lauderdale Exec). Several of his airplanes went there to do charter.
